actfirst after school drama groups

Established in 1999, the aim of the weekly drama group is to develop children’s knowledge of drama and performance skills - mainly acting - also incorporating singing, mime and musical theatre. Also, through drama, to develop the communication, confidence and team-work skills essential to their future careers. The emphasis is on fun!

Each 12 week term is themed and culminates in a performance or class demonstration, to which parents and friends are invited. Classes take place on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (depending on the age of the child) and there is at least one performance a year at a professional theatre (there is a small admittance charge for these of about £5-£6 to cover the extra costs.
Classes are run by professional drama teacher and theatre director, Jacquie Kirke. Optional tuition for LAMDA Acting and Verse & Prose examinations is offered.
One free trial class is offered to interested students, subject to availability. Please contact us for details.

Tuesday drama groups

Location: St. Frances de Sales Church, Wellington Rd, Hampton Hill.

Classes and times as follows:

9-11 year olds (Intermediates 1): 4 - 5.10pm

11-13 year olds (Intermediates 2): 5.15pm - 6.30pm

13-17 year olds (Seniors): 6.30pm – 7.45pm

Wednesday drama groups

Location: St James' Church Hall, St James's Road, Hampton Hill.

5-7 year olds (Juniors 1): 4pm - 5pm

8-10 year olds (Juniors 2): 5pm - 6pm

Spring Term 2012 dates:

Tuesday classes:

Intermediates 2 and Seniors: Tues 10th January – Tues 27th March 2012
Half term break – Tues 14th February.

Wednesday classes:

Juniors 1 and Inter 1: Weds 11th January – Weds 28th March 2012
Half term break – Weds 15th February.

The fees are £98.00 per term, payable in two instalments if preferred (£15.00 deposit required)

Conditions of inclusions on the course:

Children should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (eg track suit & trainers)
actfirst reserves the right to exclude any child who is persistently disruptive, or refuses to participate in class activities. In this case a refund could not be claimed.(NB This has never happened so far!)
Places are limited, and allocated on a first come first served basis. You will be informed if a place has been allocated, and only then will your deposit cheque be cashed.
